Upton Tire Pros Story
Upton Tire Pros was founded in 1989 when owner Mike Upton opened his first store in Brandon. Mike had spent the previous 15 years with Firestone as a store manager when he decided to apply this experience and open his own business. Crossgates Tire and Auto Service was opened in June of 1989 and has achieved continued growth each year since its inception.
Mike is a resident of Madison County and saw the need for a tire and auto service center in Madison and opened Crosscreek Tire of Madison in July of 2000. Sales in Crosscreek Tire and Auto Service have exceeded all expectations due to focused attention on giving his customers the type of products and service they want and deserve. The building fits in perfectly with the city planners' designs for a planned community and truly looks more like a bank than your typical tire store.
In July of 2003, Mike bought 2 existing tire stores in Jackson, formerly known as Progressive Tires. The addition of these 2 stores, along with Crossgates and Crosscreek, necessitated the need for a common name to promote a larger presence in the tri-county area. Tire Pros was chosen after careful consideration to convey continued local ownership with national coverage on all its products and services. Tire Pros is a national franchise with over 3000 locations nationwide.
Upton Tire Pros has built their business in this area on a simple philosophy: treat all customers with respect and dignity, sell only what is needed on their vehicle, and quickly take care of any problems or concerns in a fair and timely fashion.
Mike Upton and his staff believe you will notice the difference when you enter each of their locations and hope to be of service to you soon.
Tire Pros Story
When we opened our first Tire Pros store in 1971, our goal was simple: to create the best tire company anywhere. Period.
That meant we needed to carry the best tires made. Sell them at the best prices and offer service second to none.
We sought bright, talented people and taught them everything there was to know about tires. We installed state-of-the-art equipment, including alignment machinery, to ensure that we could take care of any kind of tire problem—and truly protect our customers' tire investment.
Most importantly, we showed our people how to take good care of a customer. We believe good service requires uncompromising honesty. No pushing products or services customers don't need. No tricky ads luring customers in with one price, then charging them another. And no hidden fees for mounting, balancing, or valve stems.
When a customer has a problem at Tire Pros, we don't pass the buck up the corporate ladder. Most of our stores are independently owned and operated, and our store owners take full responsibility for providing the level of service that matches the Tire Pros vision.
Our competitive prices and uncompromising standards have helped Tire Pros grow to over 300 stores, becoming one of the most successful and respected tire chains in the nation.
